The Drugs Page

New Veterinary Medicine Regulations were brought out on the 30th October 2005 which restrict the way in which Veterinary Medicines are brought to the attention of the general public. Essentially we are no longer allowed to display the names of Prescription Only Veterinary Drugs to ordinary people in the UK so all of the familiar posters have disappeared from our waiting rooms and the journals that our nurses enjoy reading are devoid of advertisments for Veterinary Drugs.

I am aware that in the past Farmers have used our Drugs page to fill in their Medicines Book and to find out about what treatments are available as the information contained is concise and as far as humanly possible is kept up to date. As far as I can see we are still able to display these details as long as they are only read by Farmers. I am obliged to ask UK residents to read the following:

I declare that I am a Farm Animal Keeper and have a right to look at the Minsterley Vets Drug Page according to current Veterinary Medicines Legislation.

                                Yes                                No

To everybody else especially Veterinary Nurses and Veterinary Students strangely the National Office Of Animal Health Ltd have their own Web Site where they publish a Compendium of all the Animal Medicines data sheets. It is quite alright for you to look up the details of any drug that interests you there as they are the regulatory body for Veterinary Drugs.
